Dextran sulfate can be conveniently quantified by means of our DS ELISA series. Mammalian cell culture is increasingly used for production of pharmaceutical proteins. Dextran sulfate is used in these cultures to increase the protein yield. Dextran sulfates around 7 kDa MW are used for this purpose as they are much smaller than the produced proteins. The dextran sulfate is then removed using techniques that take advantage of this size difference. Lifespan’s dextran sulfate ELISAs are the industry standard for in-process quality control during DS removal.

Which kit should I use?
The following are the uses we recommend for each dextran sulfate ELISA kit:

a) suitable for measuring low molecular weight dextran sulfate (LMWDS) in buffer.
b) detection range: in the range 0.001-0.3 µg per mL.
